Logline: The Last Real Person explores one woman’s search for authenticity in a world where human connection has become as disconnected as the technology surrounding it.

Synopsis: Maddie struggles with her sense of reality in a world dominated by disconnection. As she questions the authenticity of her relationships and navigates the robotic, mechanical behaviors of those around her, Maddie meets Ben, a kindred spirit who sees the world as she does. Together, they forge a connection that challenges Maddie’s perception of truth and reality.

We’ve partnered with From The Heart Productions, a nonprofit organization that is fiscally sponsoring the film, so all donations qualify as tax-deductible.

The Team

  • Christian Finlayson, known for Ozark and Goosebumps 2, has signed on to play Ben. 
  • Emma Rayne Lyle, known for I Don’t Know How She Does It, Law & Order and Jessica Darling's It List will be paying Maddie. 
  • We’ve partnered with Green Lung Productions, led by director of photography Steve Carmona (Bend the Universe), to create a visually stunning piece.

The Budget
The Last Real Person is a SAG-AFTRA microbudget film with a total budget of $20,000. A detailed breakdown includes $12,300 for our talented crew and essential equipment (see budget summary below), with the remaining funds allocated for post-production and actor wages. As a SAG-AFTRA production, we are committed to adhering to union standards.

Budget Highlights

  • Crew Costs: $5,600 (Cinematographer, Camera Assistants, Gaffer, Key Grip, etc.)
  • Equipment: $5,500 (Alexa Mini camera rental, lighting, and grip gear)
  • Transportation: $600 (truck rental)
  • Additional hard drives and production essentials bring the subtotal to $12,300, as detailed in the attached budget.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Depends on a few factors like if you received a reward in exchange for the donation and the value of your donation above that rewards cost, etc. You may contact the nonprofit you donated to directly to receive information on whether or not your donation is tax deductible. Nonetheless, the emailed receipts you will receive for your donation is the documentation you need to make it tax deductible.

How do I know that my donation was made successfully?
You will receive an emailed receipt immediately after your donation is submitted and your credit card is processed. Your donation will also show up on your bank or card statement within 1-3 business days.

Do I get a receipt?
Yes, a receipt is sent to your email inbox once your donation is processed. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes. If you select a recurring donation, you will be sent an individual receipt each period when your donation is processed.
